DART seeks public input before selecting next president and CEO

Posted

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit board is inviting residents to meet the finalists for the agency's next president and CEO during a public meet and greet Saturday, July 11, at DART Headquarters in downtown Dallas.

The event, scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. at 1401 Pacific Ave., gives community members an opportunity to meet the finalists and share the issues they believe should be priorities for the agency before the DART Board of Directors makes its final selection.

The identities of the finalists will remain confidential until after the DART Board of Directors Committee of the Whole meeting on Friday, July 10.

Attendance is free but limited. The event is first come, first served and organizers said it is expected to reach capacity. The session will end promptly at 2 p.m., and not every attendee is guaranteed an opportunity to meet each candidate.

The DART board said it is seeking public feedback as part of the hiring process for the agency's next chief executive.

Members of the media are welcome to attend the event but will not be permitted to record audio or video or interview the candidates. DART said candidates will not participate in on-the-record interviews, either on or off camera, and recording equipment, including handheld, clip-on, lapel and lavalier microphones, will not be allowed.

DART Headquarters is located at 1401 Pacific Ave. in downtown Dallas.
