Fire Chief CJ Alexander presented members of the Addison Fire Department with the Phoenix Award at Tuesday’s City Council meeting for their lifesaving response to a cardiac arrest on June 28.
While responding to a chest pain call, the patient lost consciousness and went into cardiac arrest. Crews immediately began CPR, provided advanced life support, and successfully restored the patient’s pulse after approximately 10 minutes. The patient was transported to the hospital for additional cardiac care and was able to return home on July 13.
Congratulations to Firefighter/Paramedics Bryan Murley, Cory Grizzard, Joshua Mowl, Ethan Smith, Garrett Bowen, and Tommy Williams; Fire Captains Darin Jones and Kameron Russey; and Driver/Engineer Shawn Ainsworth for their quick action and teamwork.
