The highest level of professional competition in the fastest growing sport in America will return to Farmers Branch this year.
Fans can mark their calendars for Nov. 3-9, when the 2025 Pickleball World Championships will return to the Brookhaven Country Club for the third consecutive year as part of the Carvana Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour.
In November 2024, more than 57,500 attendees descended upon Pickleball Boulevard, as Golfing Green Drive was renamed, to enjoy a festival-like atmosphere that included amateur pickleball tournaments, programming and a wide range of food options, according to an economic impact study done by the City of Farmers Branch.
For the fourth consecutive year, the Sports & Fitness Industry Association declared pickleball the fastest growing sport in its 2025 Participation Report.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring our signature event, the Pickleball World Championships, back to Brookhaven Country Club for the third year in a row,” PPA Tour Founder & CEO Connor Pardoe said in a press release. “This year’s edition will see Pickleball Boulevard go bigger and better than ever with a bolstered lineup of clinics and programming, enhanced fare options, and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy while cheering on the greatest players in the world as they compete for the ultimate crown in pro pickleball.”
Once again, the Professional World Championships will host amateur competitions, pickleball clinics, games, socials and more in addition to the professional tournaments. Both professionals and those new to the sport are welcome to participate. In 2024, more than 4,200 players participated in these activities. “This event is a testament to the great partnership our city has with PPA, Invited Clubs, Brookhaven Country Club and the Dallas Sports Commission. Whether you are a local guest or a national or international spectator or participant, our city is yours and we can’t wait to welcome you with Texas hospitality. Welcome to Farmers Branch, the Pickleball Capital of the United States!” Mayor Terry Lynne said in a press release.
Last year, 18-year-old Anna Leigh Waters dominated the professional tournament with gold medals in both women’s singles and mixed doubles with top professional pickleball player Ben Johns. In men’s singles, Dallas native Michael Lloyd steamrolled the competition and upset favorites Dylan Frazier, J.W. Johnson and Johns.
Tickets will go on sale in May.
The Branch Herald will keep local residents informed of opportunities to volunteer and participate in the event.
