Early College High School cuts ribbon

Posted

After years of planning and construction, Early College High School opened the doors of its new building this fall.

The school welcomed more than 300 students to a program that allows Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District (CFBISD) students to earn an associate degree and high school diploma at the same time, free of charge.

On Friday, Oct. 18, the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce helped Principal Timothy Isaly, the school staff and the mascot Bear celebrate the building's opening with a ribbon cutting.

Early College High School was one of 15 Texas public schools designated in 2006 as a model established in the Texas High School Project. The Texas Education Agency stipulates the campus must serve "at-risk" students who are first-generation college attenders and come from families with limited economic resources.
