Robbery investigation leads to SWAT response in Farmers Branch neighborhood

Posted
Farmers Branch Police Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred yesterday evening near Morningstar Park.

At approximately 5:20 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, the Farmers Branch Police Department received a 911 call reporting a two-car collision near Morningstar Park. When officers arrived, they spoke with one of the individuals involved, who reported that he had been robbed by two males prior to the collision. The suspects allegedly attempted to flee the scene in a second vehicle. The female driver of that vehicle was taken into custody, while the two male suspects fled on foot into the surrounding neighborhood.

Officers canvassed the area and received information that one of the suspects may have barricaded himself inside his residence in the 3500 block of Ridgeoak Way. The SWAT team responded to the location; however, officers later determined that the suspect was not inside the residence. Detectives remained on scene to process and recover evidence believed to be relevant to the ongoing investigation.

The victim knew both male suspects, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public. The investigation remains ongoing.
