A 100-foot flagpole now towers above Galleria Chevrolet, its 30-by-60-foot American flag visible from Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway and surrounding neighborhoods, marking what new leadership calls a renewed commitment to community.

The dealership hosted a flag dedication ceremony Friday, Feb. 27, outside its showroom at 4747 Lyndon B. Johnson Fwy., drawing city leaders, students, veterans and local media for a morning centered on patriotism and civic pride.

Galleria Chevrolet came under new management in October and has since begun making updates and additions to the property, including the new flag and flagpole.

The Farmers Branch Police Department Honor Guard presented the colors, and the R. L. Turner High School Band performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” as the flag rose up the pole.

Mayor Terry Lynne led the Pledge of Allegiance after the flag was released

Farmers Branch City Council Member Elizabeth Villafranca and Addison Mayor Bruce Arfsten, along with camera crews from Good Morning Texas were among the attendees..

The dealership’s general manager and partner, Alan Brown, addressed the crowd. The installation of the flagpole and 1,800-square-foot flag is part of that broader effort to invest in both the business and the community it serves. “It will remind us of the values that bring us together,” he said. “It’s a promise. A promise that we’re here, that we care, and that we are dedicated to building a future we can all be proud of.”

Flag Systems installed the 100-foot pole, which now stands as one of the most visible markers along the LBJ corridor in Farmers Branch.

In an email to attendees after the event, Community Manager Kaylin Holbrook thanked community members and city officials for their presence.

“Your presence truly meant a great deal to us and played an important role in making the event so meaningful and memorable,” Holbrook wrote. “It was a special day of reflection, pride and community, and we are incredibly grateful to have shared it with each of you.”

She added that events like the dedication are made memorable not just by the ceremony itself, but by the people who gather to support what the flag represents.

For a dealership in transition, the ceremony was both symbolic and strategic, a public statement that new management intends to plant deep roots in Farmers Branch while honoring longstanding traditions.
