The Branch Herald will host its first community dinner and fund-raiser, The Headliner, 6:30 p.m. Saturday, October 18, at The Meeting Place on Midway Road.
This intimate evening is limited to just 50 seats, bringing neighbors together for food, connection, and a celebration of community spirit.
Headlining the night is keynote speaker James Armstrong, outgoing CEO of Builders of Hope in Dallas. Known for his dedication to strengthening neighborhoods and creating opportunities, Armstrong will speak on the importance of building community and share practical ways residents of Farmers Branch, Addison and Carrollton can make a difference where they live.
Dinner will feature barbecue from Crossbuck BarBQ, pizza from Joe's Pizza and cake from Tiers by Alex for dessert. Guests will also enjoy a round or two of hometown trivia led by Branch Herald trivia master Dan Bergeron, who will guide teams through fun and surprising facts from the local area. A small silent auction will be open throughout the evening, and a cash bar will be available with a newspaper themed cocktail and mocktail.
The event is named The Headliner to spotlight what matters most: neighbors, stories, and the shared work of building community. Proceeds from the dinner will support The Branch Herald’s mission of providing independent, local news for Farmers Branch and Addison, ensuring the voices of the community are heard and preserved.
With only 50 seats available, tickets are expected to go quickly. The Headliner promises to be an evening of good food, laughter, and inspiration as residents come together to strengthen the ties that make their cities thrive.
Tickets cost $37, which includes sales tax and credit card fees.
