The community is invited to honor the life, bravery and service of Pvt. Isabella Gonzales during the Isabella Gonzales Honor Ride on Saturday, Aug. 1.
Sponsored by Maverick HOG and Maverick Harley-Davidson, the event will raise funds for the Carrollton American Legion's efforts to support Gonzales' family following the loss of the Hebron High School graduate, who was killed while serving her country.
Registration for riders will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Maverick Harley-Davidson, 1845 N. Interstate 35E in Carrollton. The ride is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
The procession will travel north on Josey Lane to Hebron High School, where participants will pause for a moment of silence in Gonzales' honor before returning to the dealership via Old Denton Road.
Community members who do not ride motorcycles are encouraged to participate by lining Josey Lane to pay their respects as the procession passes or by gathering at Hebron High School for the moment of silence.
Following the ride, the public is invited back to Maverick Harley-Davidson beginning at noon for food, music and drinks available for purchase. The ride is expected to end by 12:30 p.m. with the event ending at 2:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Carrollton American Legion in support of Gonzales' family.

A memorial service vigil for Gonzales will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 1 at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Blvd., Plano. The memorial service is open to the public, and doors open at 5 p.m.
