Herding cats or a goat rodeo?

News site accepts funny pet photos through Sept. 14

Editor's Note: Deadline has been extended through 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14.

For it's inaugural print newspaper, Branch Herald is seeking funny pet photos for a contest. 

Pet parents must be residents of Farmers Branch, Addison or Carrollton.

Deadline is 6 p.m. Sept. 12.

Please submit electronic files only. For best reproduction, we recommend 300 dpi for images and photographs. Images taken from the web typically will not reproduce well and may not be used. We will accept .jpg, .png and .pdf files. 

Adults may submit one photo. Youth contestants (16 and younger) may submit up to five photos.

Send photos to news@branchherald.com with an email that includes the photographer first and last name, address and phone number. If a photo features human subjects, include obtained written consent from the for permission for their likeness to be featured/published as well as their full name and phone number.

If a minor's photo is included, please include the name and phone number of parent/legal guardian who gave consent.

By sending the email, you certify that you are the photographer of the submitted photo (s); that all information included is correct; that any human subjects have provided written permission to be photographed and published; and that any children have written parental consent to be featured. 

Photos should be named in this format: SuzieSmith_Wildlife.jpg(your name, underscore, category name).

There is no cost to enter.

Winners will be notified by email or phone call. Winners and finalist photos will appear in the first edition of the printed Branch Herald newspaper, which will be distributed for free at various locations in Farmers Branch, Addison and Carrollton.
