Farmers Branch tree giveaway returns Nov. 7

Farmers Branch residents can add a tree to their yards for free this fall as part of the city’s effort to grow its tree canopy.

The city will give away a limited number of trees Saturday, Nov. 7, with advance registration required. Registration opens at noon Oct. 13.

Trees are limited to one per household and must be reserved online in advance. Residents can register and find information through the city’s tree program website.

Reserved trees can be picked up from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 7 in the Farmers Branch City Hall parking lot. Trees that have been reserved but are not picked up will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The tree program is part of the city’s sustainability efforts through its Public Works Department.
