Two teen-age boys attempting to cross Valley View Lane were hit by a car Wednesday.
According to a witness, the teens, who multiple sources say are eighth-grade students at Vivian Field Middle School, were injured while attempting to cross the road at the crosswalk with an elecric bicycle near the Farmers Branch Rose Gardens and Oran Good Park. The Farmers Branch Fire Department transported both teens to a local hospital.
According to a statement by the Farmers Branch Police Department (FBPD), a witness said he observed a vehicle fail to stop for the crosswalk, striking the teens. The witness remained at the scene and cooperated with investigating officers.
An adult male driver was arrested and charged with Motor Vehicle Collision Involving Pedestrian or Other Vulnerable Road User Within Area of Crosswalk, including one advanced charge for causing Serious Bodily Injury, a state jail felony, according to the FBPD statement. The department said the investigation remains active and released no further details.
