Carrollton residents can experience international food and performances, learn lifesaving CPR skills, clear unwanted items from their homes and enjoy live music as the city continues a busy September schedule of community events.
One of the month's largest events will also introduce residents to a new gathering space. Carrollton Culture Fest will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Trinity Mills Station Esplanade, a three-acre open-air venue in the Trinity Mills Station development.
The free festival will feature international food and drinks, cultural performances, artisans and activities for all ages. Guests can visit Bevvy Blvd, an international drink garden by 3 Nations Brewing Co., shop an artisan marketplace and participate in traditional street games.
The Korean American Youth Artists of Texas will offer a children's craft activity. A sensory-friendly area and photo booth will also be available.
The Carrollton Senior Center, 1720 Keller Springs Road, will host its weekly Thursday Night Dance from 7 to 9:15 p.m. Sept. 17.
The dance features live entertainment and complimentary refreshments and is open to adults 50 and older. Participants must have a valid Senior Center membership or day pass, or attend with someone who does.

Carrollton Fire Rescue will offer free CPR and automated external defibrillator training from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Carrollton Fire Administration building, 1111 W. Belt Line Road, Suite 100.
The class focuses primarily on compression-only CPR and AED use and also covers choking and CPR for children and infants.
The training does not provide a nationally accredited course completion card such as those offered through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. For more information, call 972-466-9811.
Carrollton residents can get rid of unwanted bulk items, electronics, brush and yard waste during the city's free Community Clean Out Day from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 19.
Drop-off will be available in the parking lot on Rainwater Lane across from the Carrollton Police Department. Accepted items include broken furniture, household appliances, bicycles, rugs, mattresses, televisions, cables and small amounts of construction debris from do-it-yourself projects.
Some items will not be accepted, including refrigerators and air-conditioning units containing freon, household hazardous waste and battery-operated electronics such as cell phones, laptops and cameras.
Residents must bring a valid ID and water bill as proof of residency.
Republic Services will also bring its Touch-a-Truck display, where families can take photos and enter a drawing for a trash-themed birthday party.
Residents 50 and older can meet with the Carrollton Police Department for a free Lunch & Chat from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 23. The program provides public safety information and updates on crime trends and ways residents can make themselves more difficult targets for criminals. Registration is required.
The Friends of the Carrollton Public Library will hold its book sale at Hebron & Josey Library, 4220 N. Josey Lane, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 24 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 26. Friends members receive early access from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 23. Proceeds support library programs and events.
Sounds on the Square returns to Historic Downtown Carrollton from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 25. Nova Pange will perform a mix of Latin pop, world music, acoustic arrangements and multilingual storytelling. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and visit downtown restaurants, shops and boutiques before the performance.
Carrollton's Adaptive Programming will host the Special Needs Fall Bash from 5 to 8 p.m. Sept. 30 at Crosby Recreation Center. The inclusive event will feature face painting, balloon animals, inflatable games and dinner, along with a sensory-friendly break area. Registration is required.
Throughout September, Carrollton Public Library is also celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month. New cardholders will receive a voucher for the Friends book sale and be entered into a prize drawing, while current cardholders can participate in monthlong challenges.
