Amateur pickleball players can register for November tournament at Brookhaven Country Club

Posted

Local pickleball players have until Oct. 26 to register to compete when professional and amateur pickleball returns to Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch this November.

The Opendoor Pickleball World Championships will be held Nov. 2-8, marking the fourth consecutive year the weeklong tournament has been held in Farmers Branch.

Amateur competition includes divisions for players of varying ages and skill levels. Registration is currently open through Oct. 26.

The tournament also brings some of the sport's top professional players to Farmers Branch. Current world No. 1 players Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns are among those expected to compete.

Tickets for the professional competition are also on sale.

Last year's tournament drew more than 4,400 participants representing 38 countries, according to organizers. More than 6,000 matches were played during the week, and organizers reported more than 60,000 attendees.

The event combines professional competition with a large amateur field, giving recreational and competitive players an opportunity to participate at the same venue and during the same week as the professional tournament.

Brookhaven Country Club has hosted the event since 2023.

More information, including amateur registration, tickets and tournament schedules, is available through the PPA Tour.
