From daylight parades to night skies decorated with dazzling bursts of color, Farmers Branch, Carrollton and Addison have a range of star-spangled celebrations for all ages. Here is our list of top spots to celebrate the United States' 250th anniversary.
July 3
Kids Day Parade10 a.m. to noon | 2200 Crater Lake Ct, Carrollton, TX 75006A come-and-go childrens parade brings a patriotic start to the day at Clifford E. "Bill" Hall Park. In addition to the parade, there will be music, dress-up accessories, raffles, patriotic inflatables and more. Prizes will be available for children who bring decorated tricycles or bicycles, and attendance is free.
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. | 1720 Keller Springs Rd., Carrollton, TX
Bring the whole family to the Carrollton Senior Center for a free patriotic concert provided by The New Horizons Band. A free lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. One lunch per person, and individuals must be on-site to receive a lunch. No registration is required, but seating is limited. For more information, call 972-466-4854.
Addison Kaboom Town! 5 to 11 p.m. | 4970 Addison Circle, Addison, TX 75001Named among the top firework shows in the country by the Wall Street Journal, USA Today and more, Addison Kaboom Town! features fireworks, an airshow, live music, activities and food. General admission tickets are available for $10 per person, $5 for children ages 2 to 9 and free for children under 2.
Farmers Branch Independence Day Celebration6 to 11 p.m. | Farmers Branch Historical Park, 2540 Farmers Branch Lane, Farmers Branch, TX 75234Low-level fireworks are set to light up the sky at the heart of Farmers Branch Historical Park. The celebration features live music, family-friendly activities and food trucks. Resident admission is free with a firecracker pass or proof of residence. Non-resident admission is $7 per person and free for children 2 and under.
Carrollton Independence Day Fireworks Show9:30 to 9:45 p.m. | 1700 Keller Springs Rd, Carrollton, TX 75006Held over Josey Ranch Lake, the Carrollton Independence Day Firework Show provides a night of lakeside fireworks watching. Additionally, photo ops will be set up in Josey Ranch Sports Complex (1440 Keller Springs Road), Jimmy Porter Park (2105 N. Josey Lane) and the Josey Ranch Lake area. While there is no on-site event, residents can view the fireworks from the surrounding parking lots, neighborhoods and the lakeside.
July 4
Carrollton July 4th Celebration & America's 250th Birthday
Begins 12 p.m., live music begins 7 p.m. | 1106 S Broadway St, Carrollton, TX 75006
In downtown Carrollton Square, the American Legion Post 597 and the Historic Downtown Carrollton Association are hosting a day of patriotic celebrations. Opening ceremonies begin at noon with a flag-raising ceremony, speech and show cars. Throughout the day, families can enjoy photo opportunities, face painting, and other family-friendly activities. Attendence is free, and barbecue plates will be available for a $5 donation.
