Voters choose District 1 council member

Unofficial results are in from Dallas County for the Farmers Branch City Council District 1 election.

Lupe Gonzalez will be the newest elected city council member for Farmers Branch City Council District 1, according to the unofficial results tabulated by the Dallas County Elections Department. 

As of the Final Unofficial Results Report, out of 503 votes cast in District 1, Gonzalez received 283 votes, or 56.26%, while Lilia Martinez received 220 votes, 43.74% of votes. There were 32 undervotes

Unofficial results from Dallas County show a 16.31% voter turnout. Dallas County had 1,485,879 registered voters for this election. There were 237,983 votes cast in the county.

Dallas County had 442 election day locations and 69 early voting locations.

Election results remain unofficial until the votes are canvassed. The Farmers Branch City Secretary has not announced when results will be canvassed. The next regularly scheduled City Council meeting is Nov. 18.

Unofficial totals for early voting show that 1,540 people voted at Farmers Branch Manske Library and 484 people voted at Dallas County Brookhaven Campus. In all of Dallas County, 100,616 participated in in-person early voting, including mail-in ballots.

The Rowlett Community Centre had 4,339 early voters, the busiest early voting location in the county.
