Forget Taco Tuesday. The Branch Connection's active adult community added a news twist to the traditional cake walk and embraced the spirit of the day with a pie walk, games, green-screen photos along with a taco bar.
More than 118 adults, ages 50 and up, participated in the first Viva Fiesta. The Branch Connection staff and the Farmers Branch Senior Advisory Board brought music and a photographer who allowed participants to play with props before a green screen.
City staff has announced that The Branch Connection building, located at 14055 Dennis Lane and closed since Jan. 2, 2024, will reopen May 12.
Members and staff of The Branch Connection has been using the facilities at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center, Manske Library, Farmers Branch Aquatics Center and Venue 1842.
The Branch Connection offers a wide range of classes and activities for people ages 50 and older.
