The Headliner attendees to receive newspaper fresh off the presses

Posted

Attendees to the Branch Herald’s The Headliner Dinner on Oct. 18 will have one of the first opportunities to hold a physical copy of the Herald in their hands.

The Branch Herald team dedicated long hours to bring a physical newspaper to the community. It will be available for free at news racks in Farmers Branch, Addison and Carrollton starting Saturday, Oct. 19, including at PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans, 13605 Midway Rd.; Aussie Grind Provisions, 4887 Alpha Rd.; Tom Thumb, 14280 Marsh Lane; Bankhead Brewpub, 13090 Bee St.; and both Dallas StarCenters, 12700 N. Stemmons Fwy. and 2400 Pike St.

The Branch Herald team recommends that residents sign up soon for The Headliner, a community-building event with Builders of Hope CEO James Armstrong on Saturday, Oct. 18. There are limited seats available. Make reservations by Oct. 16 so the team can ensure there will be enough food and libations on hand.

The event will focus on what residents can do to create community locally at a time when national politics divide people and long-time Farmers Branch residents continue to heal from deep divisions caused by an anti-immigration policy more than a decade ago (which was struck down by the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans).

With more and more people moving into North Texas, this is a great opportunity for residents in Farmers Branch, Addison and Carrollton to learn how to bring people together before an emergency forces neighbors to work together under pressure. This will be an opportunity to learn how to engage neighbors and create space for conversations while supporting the Branch Herald.

Dinner of barbecue and pizza will be served with cake by Tiers by Alex for dessert. A silent auction and local trivia with prizes will amp up the fun. A cash bar will be available with a paper-themed cocktail and mocktail.

All attendees will leave with the first distributed newspapers printed by the Branch Herald.

Tickets are $37 and include dinner and non-alcoholic beverages and fun. Buy your tickets here.
