Silver Line on track

Chamber receives transportation update

Posted

The Silver Line is on track to start operating in early 2026.

While a test train runs now from the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) to the Dallas Fort Worth Airport's (DFW) Terminal B, DART repressentatives said the line cannot open until the entire line is complete, according to federal regulations.

DART design-build contractor Archer Western Herzog is tasked with changing soil and line elevations at Hillcrest Road, which is where progress is currently taking place along the line. The 26.1-mile line will end at terminus just past Shiloh Road in Plano.

From the Farmers Branch DART station, riders will be able to ride the Green Line north to Carrollton and change to the Silver Line to ride either toward the airport or Plano.
