The Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Board of Trustees selected new officers and recognized student, staff and community achievements at its meeting on June 3. Trustee Cassandra Hatfield was elected board president by a 4-3 vote, succeeding longtime member Randy Schackman. Kim Brady was chosen as vice president with a 5-2 vote, and Illeana Garza-Rojas was elected secretary.
The district presented an award for community support to the Brekhus family. La Villita Elementary received an award for their participation in the 2025 virtual Kacie's Run. The district also acknowledged the success of its inaugural girls flag football season.
In staff updates, Leon Sulak was appointed executive director of student services, Dr. Keith Davis was named principal of Creekview High School, and Isaiah Young was named principal of Blalack Middle School.
