Robert Galvan Ramirez, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, in Carrollton, Texas. Born to Felipe and Dolores Galvan Ramirez of Hill County, Robert moved to Carrollton–Farmers Branch from McClellan County in 1964 with his wife, Nancy Veracruz. The couple settled on Pleasant Run Road in South Carrollton, where they raised their family.

Robert worked as a diesel mechanic at L&R Trailers in Farmers Branch before founding his own trucking company, hauling sand and gravel throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area. His business supported major infrastructure projects across the region — at times reaching as far south as North Austin during ground breaking construction of the Mopac — and played an important role in shaping the area’s roads, bridges, and future growth. Known for his dependable work ethic and easygoing motto, “You call, we haul,” Robert ran the company until 2015.

In 2015 he began splitting his time between Dallas and northwest Anderson County to enjoy country life near his daughter on Richland Chambers Lake. He loved hosting parties, mowing his acreage, cooking out, and celebrating life surrounded by family and friends.

Robert is survived by his four children, Michael, Carolyn, Mary and Felipe; son-in-law Richard Benavides; daughter-in-law Tonya Ramirez; six grandsons—Benjamin, LJ, Jay, Heath, Charlie (all of Carrollton), and Sebastian (of San Luis, Potosi, Mexico); three granddaughters—Maddie (Carrollton), Stevie and Makenzi (Hurst); two great grandsons—Logan and Nicolas (Carrollton); three siblings—Felipe Ramirez, Dolores Martinez of Hillsboro, and Janie Hernandez of Waxahachie; and numerous nieces and nephews across Texas whom he cherished, as well as many, many lifelong business associates.

Memorial Service pending family travel.
