Office rivalries head outdoors for Addison Corporate Field Day

Posted

Addison businesses will have a chance to trade desks and conference rooms for some friendly competition when Corporate Field Day returns Oct. 15.

Hosted by Addison Parks and Recreation as part of its Addison Outdoors programming, Corporate Field Day pits teams from area businesses against one another in a series of challenges designed to encourage teamwork, camaraderie and, perhaps most importantly, bragging rights.

Teams will compete in five team-building challenges throughout the event. Each challenge requires five participants, but businesses can rotate players between events, allowing more employees to get involved. Teams earn points based on their performance in each challenge, with scores tallied throughout the day.

The team finishing with the most points will be crowned “King of the Field” and receive a trophy and prizes. Second- and third-place teams will also receive trophies and prizes, while separate trophies will recognize team spirit and fundraising.

The competition includes a Lip Sync Battle, where teams can bring costumes and props to the stage. Performances are judged on factors including choreography, lip-syncing ability and stage presence, with the winning team receiving a trophy during the closing awards ceremony.

During the Battlefield Games, teams compete side by side in five games that test both strategy and teamwork. The challenges are another opportunity to collect points toward the overall title.
