Metrocrest chamber summit to spotlight North Texas economy

Posted

Business leaders, elected officials and economic development professionals will gather Aug. 6 as the Metrocrest Area Chamber hosts its 2026 Economic Development Summit, presented by Centurion American.

The summit will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Courtyard by Marriott Carrollton Conference Center. The event will feature national and regional experts discussing economic trends, infrastructure and opportunities shaping the future of North Texas.

Keynote speakers include Abby Lindenberg, founder, president and CEO of caa (formerly Capital Analytics Associates), and Emily Kerr, senior business economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

Lindenberg leads caa, a national business intelligence and media platform focused on economic research, executive interviews, leadership summits and digital content. Through the company's annual reports and Invest series, she conducts one-on-one interviews with more than 200 CEOs annually across the organization's markets. Chamber officials said her presentation will connect national economic trends with opportunities affecting Addison, Carrollton, Farmers Branch and the broader North Texas region.

Kerr will provide an update on the North Texas economy.

The summit will also include two panel discussions.

An economic development panel will feature Wayne Emerson of the Town of Addison, Darren Harris of the City of Farmers Branch and Jenny Zeilfelder of the City of Carrollton. Sean Terry, vice president of Centurion American, will moderate the discussion.

A second panel, "Building North Texas: Infrastructure as an Economic Development Strategy," will feature Ashley Booth of HNTB, Erica Mulder of DFW International Airport and Kay Shelton of Dallas Area Rapid Transit. Chris Wallace, president and CEO of the North Texas Commission, will serve as moderator.

Tickets are $75 for Metrocrest Area Chamber members and $100 for non-members.

Sponsorship opportunities remain available, including Platinum, Gold, Keynote and Table sponsorships.
