Mary Immaculate joins chamber

Posted

Father Alfonse Nazarro cut the red ribbon that symbolizs the joining of the chamber of commerce at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

He said Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce, and the business community, share the same goals as the church. "What does the community, what does the business world and what does the church have in common? It's the ability to transform lives," Nazarro said. Both businesses and the church ask people the same questions: "How can we serve? How can we help?"

Nazarro said he couldn't explain why the church and school had not joined the chamber previously. "I think it's the job of every church to reach out the community," he said.

Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Michael Gallops welcomed Mary Immaculate Catholic Church and Mary Immaculate Catholic School to the chamber. "I'm always excited when houses of worship join the chamber, because our business community is made up of people," he said.

The annual Mary Immaculate Fall Festival will take place 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11. The community is welcome to join friends and family for delicious food, fun rides, live entertainment, vendor market, silent auction, raffles and much more.
