Local mom offers Sunday school in the park

Posted

Local resident Amber Funes, a preschool teacher who works at Christ 4 Kids, will be offering a Christian Sunday school class beginning in May at Templeton Trails Park, 12801 Templeton Trail.

In addition to a short Bible lesson, Funes plans to offer crafts, read stories, singing and prayers. She would like parents to help with the cost of crafts and snacks.

“We will have a short but sweet lesson and make a craft for that lesson. We'd sing a song and play, and then end with prayer,” she wrote in her Facebook invitation to the Farmers Branch Moms Group. “The only cost would be for whatever I would need for supplies that we can all pitch in for, including myself.”

Funes, a widowed, single mother of four, is offering an opportunity for parents and children to meet her at 3:45 p.m. today, Sunday, April 27. May dates planned are May 4, 18 and 25.

Parents do not need to attend all the dates or the first one. They should join the Jesus in the Park with Ms. Amber Facebook group and RSVP there so Funes can prepare crafts and figure out costs.
