Crossbuck BBQ, Aussie Grind donate gift cards for prizes

The Branch Herald is excited to announce the winners of the Holiday Lights Contest.

More than 25 people submitted their addresses for the contest and Holiday Lights Map.

Branch Herald owners and judges of the contest, Kate Bergeron and Erin Cooper, and their families enjoyed an evening touring Farmers Branch neighborhoods to find each gem submitted for the contest.

After final analysis and discussion, they ultimately agreed on “Twinkle Creek Cottage,” located at 2522 Leta Mae, as the winner of the $100 gift card to Crossbuck BBQ.

The home “Winter Ice” at 13418 Shahan Dr. was a close competitor for the award.

The residents of the home named “All I Want for Christmas is My Yard Back,” located at 2525 Danny Lane, will receive the $25 gift card to Aussie Grind Provisions for the Most Creatively Named Home.

There are many more decorated homes in most of Farmers Branch’s neighborhoods than those who submitted for the contests, which s why the Branch Herald added street intersections to the Holiday Light Map to help guide holiday light seekers to the most lit-up areas of the city.

Fill up a thermos of hot chocolate, turn up the holiday tunes on the car stereo and enjoy a leisurely tour of Farmers Branch this season.

The Branch Herald Holiday Lights Map is available for $5 and has more than 50 locations with lights marked.

Bergeron and Cooper thank everyone who participated in the Holiday Lights Contest. Watch for other contests in the coming year.
