The filing period for candidates for the May 2024 general election closed on Feb. 16 for Farmers Branch City Council. The city has two places on the ballot for May - City Council Members for District 3 and District 5. Elected individuals will each serve a three-year term.
According to the city website, five residents have filed applications for a place on the ballot. David Reid filed an application for District 3. Wayne Reynolds also filed an application for District 3, but according to the website, he withdrew his candidacy and will not appear on May’s ballot. David Merrit is seeking re-election in District 5. Kyle Burton and Roger Neal also filed applications for District 5.
The general election will be held on May 4, 2024. Early voting will begin on April 22. The last day to register to vote is on Thursday, April 4.
