DART ceases service in Highland Park on May 14

DALLAS, TX – Following the canvassing of the May 2 election results by the Town of Highland Park, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will cease operations in the city on May 14. 
 
Highland Park voters elected to withdrawal from DART in the May 2 elections. As a result, the last day of DART service to, from or within the Town of Highland Park will be May 13. Services impacted include: 
 
  • Route 237 bus (Preston Road) will not stop within Highland Park 
  • University Park GoLink Zone will no longer service Highland Park 
  • Paratransit trips within, to, or from Highland Park will cease 
DART services may travel through Highland Park without stopping. There are no changes to services in Addison and University Park. 
 
WHEN: 
DART service to, from and within Highland Park cease at 12:00 a.m. on May 14, 2026 
 
WHAT: 
Bus, GoLink, and paratransit 
 
WHERE: 
Only within the boundaries of Highland Park. Alternative routes can be planned at DART.org or by calling 214-979-1111. 
 
WHY: 
Highland Park voters elected to withdrawal from DART during the May 2 election.
