The Branch Connection celebrated as if they were waiting for Santa when Matt Rice arrived to the club's Christmas party carrying the legendary meatloaf.
Members of The Branch Connection's monthly cooking club filled up with potluck lunch followed by a gift exchange on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center. The club meets the second Wednesday of the month for themed meals.
"I call it an eating club," said Gary Stephenson, who tends to wear themed shirts to The Branch Connection events.
The cooking club meets at 11 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center Pecan Room until The Branch Connection re-opens.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish inspired by the theme and the recipe to share with the group.
The January theme is comfort foods. February's theme is sweet treats and savory eats.
Membership to The Branch Connection is open to everyone 50 years and older.
