Classified ads now available; announcements coming soon

Posted

Classified ads are now available on the Branch Herald.

One benefit of a news website designed by newspaper designers is the ability to feature many items that traditional newspapers do regularly. For the Branch Herald, this now includes classified ads, obituaries, a community calendar and restaurant and business guides. Soon announcments for weddings, engagements, anniversaries and birthdays will join that list.

Because Branch Herald Publisher Kate Bergeron recognizes both stress the current economy puts on many people as well as the competition in the digital arena, most of these  services are free or have very discounted prices.

Garage sale, employment and stuff-for-sale ads will be free for the first 50 words for the foreseeable future. Garage sale ads come with a map, so people who want to spend a few hours visiting neighborhood sales can use the Branch Herald website as an easy source to decide where to go.

Real estate sales and rental ads receive 25 words for free. Real estate agents are welcome to list their open houses with a map.

Because this is a new service, there are likely to be bumps, though there are a few sample, informative ads on the site already. If you have issues, please email news@branchherald.com for help.

As a side note, the Branch Beat will become its own newsletter toward the end of March. Please sign up below or email info@branchherald.com if you would like to be on the subscription list for the Branch Beat as wellas the Branch Herald. The Branch Beat will continue to be dedicated to the entertainment and dining options in Farmers Branch.
