The Citizens Collection Center is closed for good.
After executive session during the Sept. 17 Farmers Branch City Council meeting, the council authorized City Manager Ben Williamson, or his representative, to negotiate and execute a purchase-sale agreement for the properties at 1349 and 1399 Valley View Lane.
The Citizens Collection Center is located on three acres at 1399 Valley View Lane, which the Dallas County Appraisal District (DCAD) currently values at $1,017,420.
The 37 acres on the north and west sides of that property at 1349 Valley View Lane are also owned by the city and included in the purchase-sale agreement. DCAD values this property at $3,459,160.
The sale is subject to the conditions of approval of a rezoning application by city council, restrictions on residential traffic and protections to the city related to any landfill-related issue.
Council made no additional comments about the matter.
In addition, also in executive session, council discussed the properties located at 13031 Denton Dr., 13025 Denton Dr., 13105 Rossford St. and 13020 Rossford St.

Lastly, the council also convened into executive session to discuss, deliberate and receive legal advice regarding a proposed redevelopment and possible land exchange relating to Farmers Branch Elementary School and Cox Park.
