CARROLLTON – On Friday, Aug. 15, The Texas Education Agency will release Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD’s 2025 District and Campus Ratings, announcing the district’s increased rating of a B (82). CFBISD is proud to share that 75% of district campuses received an A or B rating, a 19% increase from 2024 results. Ratings showed strong increases across all accountability domains, which include student achievement, school progress, relative performance and closing the gaps.
Performance improvement is attributed to effective use of standards-aligned curriculum resources, strategic data-informed actions and goal-focused approaches.
2025 Accountability Celebrations
The 2025 Accountability Ratings reflect STAAR scores from the 2024-25 school year. CFB is thrilled to announce the following campus rating highlights:
The district exceeded the state and regional percentages in all grade levels for elementary reading. In third grade alone, CFB students outperformed the region by an impressive 26 percentage points at approaches and above as well as at meets levels.
In response to the release of scores, Reading Language Arts Director Briannah Burrell attributed the outstanding gains to a combination of strong instructional support, a consistent focus on standards-aligned tasks in English and Spanish, collaborative teacher planning and implementation of strategies that support our growing emergent bilingual population.
Burrell said: “Our RLA STAAR growth is more than percentages. It’s proof that when we align science-based instruction, build strong readers, and believe in every students’ potential, success follows."
Moving on to middle school, in eighth grade math, the district saw significant gains exceeding the state and region in approaches (5% growth) and meets (6% growth) level performances.
Despite a 28-point increase in the threshold for achieving an A in College, Career, and Military Readiness introduced in 2023, the district is projected to have an A rating in CCMR for the first time in three years—far exceeding TEA’s goal of 60% by 2030. This data will be reflected in the 2026 Accountability Ratings.
2024 Accountability Ratings
TEA will also release 2024 Accountability Ratings on Aug. 15, 2025, confirming the district’s predicted rating of a high C (78). The 2024 Accountability Ratings reflect STAAR scores from the 2023-24 school year, with CFB maintaining the same rating from 2023.
Next Steps
District staff will continue to align and refine the 2025-26 District Improvement Plan and review high-quality resources and their impact on student outcomes.
