Carrollton Public Works hiring for new stormwater division

Posted

Ready to build a new career? The City of Carrollton is hiring for new job positions in Public Works’ Stormwater Division.

These new positions focus on maintaining the City’s stormwater system. Stormwater is rainwater that flows over streets, rooftops, and other surfaces, carrying pollutants into creeks, ponds, and eventually, the Trinity River. The City manages stormwater to protect environmental and public health. Effective maintenance is critical to help reduce flooding, protect water quality, and support a sustainable future.

Public Works maintains the City’s surface and underground infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient operations across Carrollton. Stormwater Division employees will enhance stormwater system maintenance by sweeping and repairing streets, inspecting pipes and channels, testing water samples, serving as first responders during severe weather events, and many other key job duties.

The positions available include Maintenance Worker II, Maintenance Crew Lead, Equipment Operator, Heavy Equipment Operator, and Maintenance Supervisor. These roles offer opportunities for applicants with little to no experience, as well as those with a few years of experience in the construction trade or related fields. Applicants must have a valid Texas driver’s license and will also be subject to a background check and drug test prior to employment.

Maintenance Worker II begins at $18.98 an hour. All full-time City employees receive a robust benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, free access to the Employee Health & Wellness Center, life insurance, and 2:1 retirement matching.
