A special election will be part of the November 5 general election for Farmers Branch residents residing in District 2. The city council seat was added to the election after current District 2 Councilmember Martin Baird announced his resignation in July, effective early November.
Candidates Tina Bennett-Burton and Brenda Brodrick are both vying for the seat. Both candidates provided responses to the Branch Herald Candidate Questionnaire and will be at the Candidate Forum on Monday, Oct. 21, at the StarCenter, organized by the Branch Herald and sponsored by the StarCenter.
A third candidate, Kristopher Cook, will be listed on the ballot, but has announced his withdrawal from the race. Therefore, a candidate profile is not available for him.
