Builders of Hope Community Development Corporation (BOH CDC), a  HUD-certified nonprofit affordable housing developer, announced a community meeting for prospective homebuyers interested in The Porches at Valwood Park 2.0, the second phase of an attainable homeownership development in Farmers Branch.

Building on the success of Phase I — five homes completed and sold last year — this next phase will bring 10 additional newly constructed homes to the community in Fall 2026. The event will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Farmers Branch City Hall, 13000 William Dodson Pkwy. in Farmers Branch. Food and light refreshments will be provided.

The community meeting, sponsored by Benchmark Bank, will feature a financial literacy session led by Benchmark Bank to prepare families for the mortgage and financing process. Builders of Hope CDC staff will walk attendees through the homeownership process to purchase one of the 10 available homes, covering eligibility, steps to purchase, and how to get on the interest list.

The Porches at Valwood Park 2.0 will offer spacious, newly constructed single-family homes featuring:

• 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
• 2-car garage
• 1,610–1,710 square feet of livable space
• Homes starting at $300,000

“At Builders of Hope CDC, we believe homeownership is one of the most powerful tools for building family wealth and community stability. The Porches at Valwood Park 2.0 represents Phase II of a continued investment by the City of Farmers Branch to create pathways for families to put down roots, remain in the community, and allow the city to retain a strong workforce. This development is an opportunity for working families in the Farmers Branch area to own a quality, attainable home. We invite everyone who is curious about homeownership to join us on June 4th and see what’s possible," said Chris Lewis, President & CEO, Builders of Hope CDC.
