At its March 24 meeting, the City Council approved an agreement with Via Transportation Inc. to launch Addison Orbit, an on-demand microtransit pilot program designed to help people get around town and connect to transit. The program officially launched on April 25.

After the May 2 election, where voters chose to remain in DART, Addison refined the program to complement DART services better and focus on flexible, on-demand rides within Addison. As part of the updated service model, paratransit service and rally stops outside Town limits have been discontinued, except for Knoll Trail Station.

Whether you’re heading to dinner on Belt Line or making a last-mile connection from the Silver Line to your hotel, give Addison Orbit a try and share your thoughts on the program. The Orbit app has been updated to include a new post-trip survey to help gather rider feedback, or you can email comments to marketing@addisontx.gov.

Council plans to consider next steps for the program at its May 26 meeting.
