City Council approved a five-year agreement with All American Dogs to provide animal sheltering and related services for Addison Animal Services.
While Addison provides its own animal control services, the Town does not operate an animal shelter. It has historically relied on a variety of third-party providers to house and care for animals that come into its custody. The new agreement establishes a single provider for sheltering, medical care and adoption services, streamlining operations and improving efficiency for Animal Services staff. All American Dogs provides animal control and sheltering services to more than 35 municipalities across North Texas.
The agreement also provides sheltering capacity for up to 200 animals annually, with additional services available as needed. Animals that are not reclaimed after the required hold period will be placed for adoption through All American Dogs' nonprofit partner, Miles of Hope.
