Gateway to the Globe, held March 28 at the Farmers Branch Historical Park, brought together residents to celebrate the many cultures that shape Farmers Branch and Carrollton.

Organized as a multicultural festival, the event featured a range of traditional performances throughout the day. Highlights included Hispanic dances by R.L. Turner High School’s dance company and a traditional Chinese lion dance performed by the Rising Phoenix Lion Dance Association.

Outside the park, food trucks offered a wide variety of international cuisine, giving attendees a chance to sample flavors from around the world.

The event also included family-friendly activities such as a petting zoo, a Ninja Nation obstacle course, amusement rides and rock climbing.

Vendors representing diverse cultural backgrounds lined the park with booths offering handmade goods, services and specialty items. Attendees could browse products ranging from globally inspired toys to items tied to specific cultural traditions.
